Add metrics panels to your Dashboards so you can correlate metrics and logs in a single view.

About Metrics Panels ​

A metrics panel is a Dashboard panel backed by a metrics query instead of a log search. You add, edit, hide, rearrange, and delete metrics panels the same way you manage other panels. You can mix metrics panels and log panels on the same Dashboard.

Metrics panels support the same visualization types as other panels, such as line, bar, area, and table, along with format options such as units, thresholds, and axis labels. They also follow the Dashboard time range, auto-refresh, and shared crosshairs.

Add a Metrics Panel ​

You can add a metrics panel in two ways:

• From a Dashboard: Create a new panel and choose a metrics query as its source.
• From the Metrics Explorer: Build a query in Metrics, then save it to a new or existing Dashboard. Your split-by dimensions are preserved as a trellis breakdown on the resulting panel.

Open a Panel in the Metrics Explorer ​

To investigate or refine a metrics panel further, select the panel’s Actions button, then Open in Metrics. Cribl Search opens that panel’s query in the Metrics Explorer, with its filters, split-by dimensions, visualization options, and time range already applied, so you can drill down without rebuilding the query by hand. This action is available for every metrics panel.
